Scientific Names for the Song Them Bones?

Does anyone know the scientific names for the song Them Bones, I have tried to google it, and cannot find it?

I am not sure what you mean.  Do you mean the title of the song?  I did a quick check.  Some call it Dem Bones or Dry Bones and there are slightly different versions of the lyrics.

I didn t see any scientific names.  Is there another version with scientific terms?  Have you tried to search You Tube?

Edit:  They have a few different versions too, but most are the original version.

I found this song from Hannah Montana.  It is called the Bone Dance.  It was from her TV show.

Looks useful, and the words appear on the screen.  I wish the tune was a bit better....  :)

Hi Mahalo,

If you mean, What are the scientific names for the bones mentioned in the old gospel song? , the web site  www.free-online-health.com/language/.../bones-directory.htm shows a skeleton with some of the 206 bones of the human body listed.

Hi all
Ballycastle- the link says it is broken. Thanks though..

I am trying to find the answer key to a worksheet that I found, asking for the scientific terms to the song "Them Bones."

For example-
the cranium is connected to the _______ bones
The metatarsals are connected to the _________
The tibia is connected to the ______________
The ___________ is connected to the pelvic bone
The Femur is connected to the ____________
The ________________ is connected to the rib bone
The ________________ is connected to the coccyx bone
The carpal bones are connected to the radius and ________
The clavical is connected to the _____________________
The patella is connected to the ________________ and fibula

We are studying the body parts, and several of my students asked me for these answers. I don t want to tell them that I do not know, so I am seeking help.

Thanks in advance,

Hi again Mahola,  If you copy and paste the link into your seaarch engine, you ll get diagrams with all the bones named.  Alternatively, enchantedlearning.com has a very clear diagram with bones all named.

Here are lyrics to the Hannah Montana song and one other that I found.  I haven t found the one you are looking for yet.

Everybody knows the bones
Just had to find a way
Everybody know what I m talking bout
That s how I ll get an A

My body s many parts
And this is where it starts
Phalanges I have 10
And Metatarsals then

I got some Tarsals to
I ll put them in my shoe
The Fibula is next
According to my text

Then comes the Tibia
That ain t no Fibia

And now up to my knee, yeah, yeah, yeah
That s the patella to me

Chorus:
We re doing the bone dance
You study the answers
Again and again till I get it right

We re doing the bone dance
You dance and you learn it
And we won t mess up this test

We ll get it perfect

When I milk the cow
On Uncle Earl s farm
I use the ulna bone
That is in my arm

Moo-Yah!!

And now I take it home
With the Parietal bone
It might be crazy
But we learn that way

Temporal and frontal too
And now we re finally through
That makes two hundred and six
I found a way that clicks

Chant: Bone Thugs in the house

We re doing the bone dance
You study the answers
Again and again till I get it right

We re doing the bone dance
You dance and you learnin
And we won t mess up this test
We ll get it perfect.

___________________________________________

Chorus:
206 Bones in the Body
206 Thats all there is
206 Bones in the Body
And if you sing it right
They sound like this.

The skull is the cranium, right on top
Immovable joint and not a soft spot
Scapulas the shoulder blade, a real flat bone
Sternums in the center and protects the heart alone

Chorus

Clavicles the collarbone, fractures all the time

Chorus

Radius and ulna are above the wrist

Chorus

Phalanges, youll find, are in the hands and feet

Chorus

The tibias the shin and the fibula - youll see
Is in the lower leg, just under the knee
Tarsals in the ankles, right near the toes
And metatarsals in the foots as far as we goes!

Chorus
