Re Virus on ESLPrintables home page

Here is a little bit of info about the virus:

http://threatinfo.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?vname=HTML_IFRAME.KS

http://www.bitdefender.com/VIRUS-1000387-en--Trojan.HTML.IFrame.F.html

http://www.viruslist.com/en/viruses/encyclopedia?virusid=125408

Basically, the virus is scripted behaviour embedded in the web page. In plain English it means that if you can view the page then the virus will be activated. The virus is actually placed inside the programming that makes the web page functional.

Until Victor can check & correct the coding there isn t actually much that anyone can do, so please be patient.

Cheers,
AB

I agree with you AB. One question though, Are our computers  in any danger of being infected? Is there a risk in continuing to log into this page?
Thanks

Thanks a lot Alien Boy for  enlightening us about the virus. I have the same question with Aftab though. Could anybody answer please?
Thanks

The risk seems to be confined to the home page, so I don t expect there is an issue using other pages on the site.

I ve been able to log in & do other things via the home page without issue, so it is more of an annoyance than a risk for me....

AB

Hi Hazza!

Apparently it s not bad. It detects & blocks everything free software should but apparently its scanning time is a little long. That s just reviews from the beta version that I ve read.

I have also heard it has a good user interface - easy to use but reasonably powerful.

If you have a legal copy of windows on your machine then it might be quite good!

This is a useful review, with screenshots & comments from users, of the beta trial:
http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/microsoft-security-essentials-review-with-screenshots/

& this is a little more thorough:

If I hear/read anything else, I ll let you know!

Cheers,
AB
