I work with adults but it s elementary level and I think it isn t easy to find simple songs to teach basic vocabulary. I ve done some research and chose these songs (feel free to share some more):

Songs for adults:

  • hello, goodbye (The Beatles)
  • Hello little girl (The Beatles)

  • family

      Our house, (madness)

  • Colors

      Wonderful world

      Colours Donovan

  • Months

      April come she will

  • Dias da semana

      Its Friday Im in Love

  • Weather

      I can see clearly now

      Im singing in the rain

  • Body

      moonshadow Cat Stevens

Peter Gabriel I have the touch

  • Jobs

      Penny Lane (body, colours)

Shes not just a pretty face

  • Daily routine

So nice of you to share this list. Perhaps there are members who can share their lists with you, too. I can t say I ve made such precise lists as you, but I can always add Frank Sinatra, because his singing diction is perfect, so I often use his songs as dictations. My favourites have been Fly Me to the Moon, Love and Marriage and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

readingaol,

I have posted a list of song suggestions divided by topic and level of proficiency. Unfortunately I didn t have time to update the list during the past year. I d love to have more suggestions, so feel free to use the same idea I had and make a worksheet with your song suggestions. I ll be the first one to download it!
