Could any of you tell me the difference between assessment and evaluation? I am cunfused!

assessment sounds a lot less scarier than evaluation to students
(both are pretty much the same, but assessment to me, sounds more like it will be based on your own judgement as a teacher)

When you assess your individual students, you gather information about their level of performance or achievement. Evaluation is comparing a student �s achievement with other students or with a set of standards. So evaluation can be connect more to tests and assessment can be based on their process, not just the final outcome. |
