Please can you suggest me the correct answer please?
Every year, a coffee tree produces less than 1 kilo of coffee bean.
and another sentence is : A coffee tree can produce about 1 kilo of coffee bean each year.
I wonder if they have the same meaning or not.
I m so confused about these phrases" less than" and "about"

Less than 1 kilo means a quantity not yet 1 kilo.
About 1 kilo means approximately 1 kilo.
For me the meaning is not the same because in the first sentence the amount is inferior to 1 kilo and in the second sentence it could be a little less or a little more than 1  kilo.

Basically the sentence is emphasising the fact that one coffee tree (bush, no?) doesn t even produce a whole kilo of coffee beans

Giovanni explained it perfectly. Remember that "about" is the same as "approximately", so it could be less or more.
