In Memoriam: Miguel  Delibes

Miguel Delibes (Valladolid 1920 - 2010) died today age 89. He was a great Spanish novelist and a member of the Real Academia Espa�ola de la Lengua. His novel Los Santos Inocentes (1982) is one of my all time favourites. Amongst his later books are 377A, Madera de h�roe (1988), Se�ora de rojo sobre fondo gris (1991) and El hereje (1998).

Delibes is, besides, an independent personality and writer. He has shown it during his long journalistic career, with his novels and essays and, also, with his attitude and biographical development. If he has ever taken someone�s side, it has always been �not only in the reality, but also in fiction� the side of losers, that is to say, the side of justice.
