Word order in passive voice

Could anybody tell me the correct word order in a passive sentence? should the agent be placed before place and time?

For example in the sentence: The actors are promoting these products today
-  I would say: these products are being promoted by the actors today,

but a student said he was taught otherwise and I would like to study the subject in more depth, could you provide a brief explanation or refer me to a realiable source.

Thanks a lot,

Ana
