In my part of the UK we call it the land line.

well, I would simply say "a telephone" or "a phone" - since the expressions "a mobile (phone)" or "a cell (phone)" were created to show that there re different types of phones...
i ve never heard of any other expression to say a phone...
sometimes the simplest word is the best...

In Canada we call it a cordless phone or portable phone whe we can carry it around the house without being attached, or just phone for a regular  home phone.

Here in the US, we usually say "home phone". We say "land line" if we need to specify that it is not a cell phone. For example, if your cell phone is behaving strangely (disruptive noises, fading out, etc.), you might say, "I m going to switch to a land line so we ll have a better connection." When filling out a form and giving your phone numbers, they will be listed as:
Home Phone:
Cell Phone/Mobile Phone:
Work Phone:
Fax:

I hope this helps.

"Home phone"-- "landline" is sometimes used, but it is more of a military term I believe.

PS-I have never heard the term "land phone"
