Where to start with adults?

Hello Everyone. I have been asked to give private lessons to an adult couple who have no knowledge of English at all. As I only teach very small beginners, I was wondering if you could tell me where to start with adults... I mean I cant have them singing head shoulders knees and toes can I ??? Any little tips would be great, thanks.
Hugs from damp and dismal Germany

I think you should use a book with adults. I like Headway , (Oxford) The book could at least inspire you and show you how to begin. Than you can use lots of worksheets from ESL printables. Adults also like to play games and use pictures, you just have to chose the right onces. |

I agree with the above poster. Use a decent book and it ll be a breeze. We usually use Macmillan s Inside Out - Beginner with very low-level adults. It comes with a CDrom. They also have extra resources on their website. I m sure there are lots of other decent books on the market though.
