Taro--Countable or Uncountable

Hey there all. I m American and never heard of taro before I came to Asia. I wonder, is it a countable or an uncountable noun? Thanks ahead of time!

Please also tell me how you know! Thanks!

Hey, when I search it I see it is used in plural form in many recipes so it is countable I guess. For instance, http://www.chinesefood-recipes.com/food_articles/taro_medicinal_properties.php

Thanks. I found this link (to my surprise as I didn t expect to find the information listed in a dictionary): http://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/taro

I guess it s uncountable when you talk of the substance taken from the plant itself and countable when you talk about complete units of the root.
