Thank you all for playing, some very interesting associations for the word �obstreperous � were offered; from a strep throat to constipation. Whereas it is always a joy to read Les �s musings, (welcome back Les) as Ed pointed out, he didn �t actually give a definition of the word..My choice for this round of WOD daffy-nitions goes to Douglas:
 
obst-German for fruit
reper- misspelling of reaper (Grim reaper)
ous-having the quality of
 
obstreperous- having the quality (for example the odor) of dead or spoiled fruit.
 
"You need to brush your teeth, your breathe is obstreperous."
 
I chose it because  because just the thought to tell someone his breath smells like rotten fruit made me laugh...
indeed better wrap it in a seemingly less offensive word...
The real meaning of the word �obstreperous � is - as some members who didn �t quite understand the rules already mentioned- is �noisy and unruly � (thank god we never need to deal with any obstreperous kids, now do we?)
