I couldn t find any poems or riddles for you but  came across this siteothers might find helpful it s a poem search engine

Edit:I found this riddle you might be able to use:

A boy lives in a 20 story hotel with his mum. (he lives in the 20th floor) He takes the lift down in the morning to go to school but when he comes home, he goes in the lift but only goes to the 15th floor and then walks the rest of the way. Why?

Ans: He is too short t reach the button fo rthe 20th floor

I do warm up activities with my students all of the time.  They are usually only 4 to 6 versus per stanza and we use the same stanza all week.  Helps build vocabulary and helps them remember and use english.
Usually they do not rhyme or have a nice rhythm, but I can usually tie gestures to each line.  This really helps students remember when you connect a gesture to it.

I gave you some examples of gestures I might do with the first stanza.  But, you are on your own for the other two.

So about a hotel:
Week 1:   DO NOT say what is in the (   ) just do it

Excuse me, I am tired.                         (Yawn and stretch out big)
I am looking for a hotel.                      (Act like you are searching)
Do you know where a hotel is?           (Can t think of anything)
The hotel is down the road, you say? (Point down the road)
Thank you.

Week 2:
Excuse me, is this The Laurent Hotel?
I am tired and need a room.
Nonsmoking please.
By the way, nice hotel!

Week 3:
Wow! This hotel is nice.
My room is huge!
I wonder if this hotel has room service.
Oh well. I need to sleep!

I am a prospective teacher of English language in Turkey.
I am now studying in the last semestre in my school, Hacettepe University. This semestre I am having a lecture including comparing
education systems in the world. My lecturer wants me to find an English teacher in a foreign language but s/he is expected to teach
English to non-natives. With the help of that teacher, I will get a lesson plan from her/him and learn how he teaches a subject.
I also need to access curriculum in that country but I do not know how to handle this. If you have any suggestions or any help, I would
appreciate. Thank you...Smile
