Hi dear colleagues!!
Which is the correct way to write possessives nouns?
I mean with last names which is the correct way to write the possessive form?
The Smiths�   or the Smiths�s?

Hi,
Here are the forms for singular, singular possessive, plural and plural possessive family names.
 
Singular:
Tom Taylor                   Ed Smith                   Jim Jones
 
Singular Possessive:
Tom Taylor �s house      Ed Smith �s house     Jim Jones �s house
 
Plural:
The Taylors                   The Smiths               The Joneses
 
Plural Possessive:
The Taylors � house        The Smiths � house   The Joneses � house
 
Tom Taylor lives in Tom Taylor �s house.
The Taylors live in the Taylors � house.
 
Jim Jones lives in Jim Jones �s house.
The Joneses live in the Joneses � house.
 
I hope this helps you. People try to make it much more complicated, but this is it.

If a name ends with an S - like "Jones".
You can either write
The Jones � house
or
The Jones �s house.
