Mediation exercises

Hello everyone.

I need some help. How many of you use or have used Mediation exercises in your classroom or even in assessing? I need  to do a presentation on the use of mediation exercises and I would love to have some feedback- different points of views.

Thank you in advance

hugs from a hot- hot southern Greece,
Maria

Dear Mariamit,

Once a week  and just before an exam I try and give my students the soft classical music for 10 minutes with the students closing their eyes and relaxing to the soft tunes and it does work wonders for them as I do get good results.

Thank you RB but I asked about mediation not meditation. Mediation exercises assess the use of a foreign language when the cues are given in the mother tongue. I apologise if it wasn t clear.

Dear Maria,
the primary school books have some mediation exercises and most of the children found it quite easy to deal with passages in Greek and answer comprehension questions in English e.g.http://pi-schools.sch.gr/dimotiko/english_e/ergas/s_72_94.pdf  p.24
http://pi-schools.sch.gr/dimotiko/english_e/ergas/s_48_71.pdf p.4
On the other hand when they are asked to write a summary
e.g. http://pi-schools.sch.gr/dimotiko/english_st/ergas/001-052.pdf  p.29 they find it difficult to express themselves.
Hope it helps!
Dora
