Hi, Marta! It would be a good idea if you let us know what topic you plan to teach in your first lesson. Because at least for me, it s important that the warm-up or ice breaker I use is related somehow to the lesson or topic. For example: If I m going to teach "occupations" I might ask the ss what their mom or dad does for a living, or even have him/her come to the front to "mimic" the occupation and the other ss guess. I d probably make a list on the board of the occupations they mention, and then I d go into the topic with whatever I have planned to teach it. For little kids, if I m going to teach "colors"... I might ask them to think of different things that can be a certain color. Example: think of anything that can be blue... after a few answers, change the color to red, etc. So, first I d think of what my topic will be, then choose the warm up or ice breaker to somehow "help" me introduce the topic... Just my humble opinion... Have a great day! Mar |

You can start by saying My name is Marta and my nickname is Magnificent. Now you introduce yourself and give me your nickname which starts with the first letter of your first name. Each student presents himself and he has to remember all the previous students too. It s fun!
Then, I put some summer photos on the board and ask them questions about their summer holidays. Then, I add some photos of how I spent the summer and the Ss ask me questions.
