GO JOGGING OR GO FOR JOGGING

WHY IS GO JOGGING CORRECT AND NOT GO FOR JOGGING?

Why would it ever be go for jogging?

You don t go for walking - you go for a walk - you go for a jog
or you go walking or jogging.

This is how you can remember it Pantelis:

go = to move or travel (away from speaker/writer)

go + preposition + noun phrase e.g. go for a jog, go for a swim

go + -ing e.g. go jogging, go swimming
