when the wind picks up at the foot of the ROCKIES there are those who believe THEY CAN HEAR the future. (00.02 - 00.10)

competitive with FOSSIL fuels. (00.14 - 00.16)

Scientists work TO CREATE SOLAR CELLS (00.22 - 00.24)

for this techonology is about to  COME OF AGE (00.33 -00.34)

Researchers HERE SAY - FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, it has to be on a large scale (01.02 01.10)

A JUMP IN gas prices OFTEN SPOTLIGHTS THE SEARCH FOR SOMETHING ELSE (01.20 01.25)

some farmers have been DIVERTING part of their GRAIN harvest to make a fuel called ETHANOL(01.52) but the emphasis now is on the stockS and stUBBle (01.55) left of the ground after the harvest.

The CELLULOSE THAT S IN HERE AND THAT S actually made up OF SUGAR IS SOMETHING THEY CAN TURN INTO ETHANOL IN THE SAME WAY ???

So sorry, made it thus far, but then the video got blocked (temporarily unavailable) - probably all of us ESL freaks trying to help you;)))).... Hope this helps at least....

Bruce, it s OK - Juan explained which video to look for - it s actually this one http://video.nationalgeographic.com/video/player/environment/energy-environment/energy-conservation.html in the lower right-hand corner called  Alternative Energy, but it became unavailable before I could finish... So, if anyone can access it, it s only the last two sentences that are unclear...

... in the same way that they re currently taking their corn grain and having it turned into a fuel ... (?) ethanol. The national renewable energy lab has a plant that converts harvest leftovers and just about anything else into fuel. Proving that renewable energy technology is viable remains a struggle at least in America. Wind turbines were pioneered in the United States, but countries in Europe use them to supply more meaningful amounts of power. With the current energy situation labeled as "crisis" the urge to find reliable alternatives to fossil fuels may have arrived and for renewable energy the future may be now.

when the wind picks up at the foot of the Rockies there are those who believe they  can hear the future.  (00.02 - 00.10)

 competitive with fossil  fuels. (00.14 - 00.16)

Scientists work to create solar cells far more efficient than those currently ? (00.22  - 00.24)

for this technology is about to come of age. (00.33 -00.34)

Researchers here say for renewable energy to really make a difference it has to be on a large scale. There hasnt been any great sense of urgency  (01.02  01.10)

a jump in gas prices often spotlights the search for something else to keep all those cars going(01.20  01.25)

some farmers have been diverting  part of their grain harvest to make a fuel called Ethanol (01.52) but the emphasis now is on the stalks and stubble  (01.55) left on  the ground after the harvest.

The cellulose thats in here that actually is  made up of sugars is something that they can turn into  ethanol in the same way that they re currently taking their corn grain and having it turned into a fuel  grade ethanol. The national renewable energy lab has a plant that converts harvest leftovers and just about anything else into fuel. Proving that renewable energy technology is viable remains a struggle at least in America. Wind turbines were pioneered in the United States, but countries in Europe use them to supply more meaningful amounts of power.
