Grammar Correction:

Dear Friends,

Which sentence below is correct:

The person on the end of your row is the runner.

Or

The person at the end of your row is the runner.

At would be correct.  At the end of the row is a position of place.  On would make it a surface.  You can t be on a row.

Dear Givanni, Your correction is logical and convincing, Thanks a lot!. I need correction of few more sentences; hope you will correct these as well.

1. "Why did Coreys parents have a bill for $20,000?

Can we use "for" instead of "of" in the above question?

2. The 501 label showed that the jeans do not tear easily.

I think there should be did instead of do; need your expert opinion.

I ll be thankful for your great help.

Hi nabeera, I m not Giovanni, but I ll have a go.
1. for is correct. get or receive a bill would be better. A bill of $20,000 would mean a note of that amount.
2. Do is correct, as it stands: we do not know that the jeans tore. It s an explanation of what the jeans are like, a quality they have.
3. Just originated no need for were .
