depends if you �re stating a regret (past) from the grandparents.  if so, it should be

If it �s something they would like to happen, then it should be

�see � means to look at you, the word should be to go and visit them.  Or you could say, they would like me to come and visit them, spend time with them...

"See" also means to visit, which is why Mae West �s famous line is "Come up and see me sometime". She isn �t asking him to look at her (although no man objected to that), but to pay her a visit.
