Just for a laugh... or tears!

Hi everyone!

I need to share this with someone, otherwise Im going to drive crazy here!

Im correcting some tests and my 11th students had to comment on the phrase "I shop therefore I am". One of them wrote:

"I shop therefore I am is a comparison to the words of Jesus, I think therefore I am.
Cry

What do I do? Do I kill him or kill myself laughing????!!!!

Have a nice evening...

first I thought - kill him...

@mario89:

Really?! You dont say!
I know that! My student apparently doesnt! Thats why I felt like kill him.
Id better have a word with his Philosophy teacher... shes going to have a heart attack!

I think you should consider it correct (I mean, grammatically speaking), although the idea itself is terrible! He is a shopaholic, isnt he?Wink

woww!!
yes, if you are not allowed to kill him due to regulations, you have to do something about it!! make him read something, watch some movie, do something....
It is not the fact that the student is completely ignorant or that the sentence itself is grammatically correct; to me it has something to do with professional responsibility..... That student has to see wider horizons!!!!!!!! Poor kid, its so sad....
I would give that student a movie or a book to read and ask him to do a specific assignment, I dont know....

Im with you Ivona. Why stifle a free spirit??????

He has the makings of a Goon or Monty Python with a quote like that...
