Very cool! I may have some concerns for the student that drew the cat picture though--it is very dark and could indicate a violent background/home life.
 
Sorry, my psych major shows its head once in a while.
 
Edit: On the other hand, the characters themselves seem to be pretty bright and have a "happy" aura about them (despite the tears. etc.)--it could just be a student with a good feel for drama/graphic affect.

This is cool. I used to do this kind of work when I taught children. We made picture dictionaries and illustrated stories. They loved doing it and never more forgot the vocabulary. The pictures of your students are so nice. Congratulations!
