Well done people! There were some good entries in there although, I think Lynne may well be going to English Teacher Hell for her Kensington joke.

Well, the best daffinition should go, in my humble opinion, to Maryse Peye for the marketing word-play to get people to drink Heineken.

By the way, Paradise lost was right, a BAWBEE, for those that do not know, is a small coin of little value in Scotland.

Now that I have your attention, and also on the subject of unusual words, I was thinking of doing a kind of quiz to practice using WHO as a relative pronoun. I was thinking of using words like ornithologist to get my students to say sentences such as “An ornithologist is a person who studies birds.” But it occurred to me that this could be a lot of fun so, if any of you know of any unusual job titles, unusual enthusiasts, or people with odd phobias, please let me know as I am compiling a list.

I think I may as well do the same with THAT and objects. BAWBEE is going to have to go on the worksheet, too.

Well done, Marion!

I like the idea of your who/which definitions quiz.
Here are some ideas:
The Taoiseach ( pronounced, more or less, as "tea shock") is the head of the Irish government.
A nonagenarian is a person in their 90s.
A cooper is a person who makes barrels.
A turophile is a person who loves cheese.

I remember Silvias weird jobs ws - snake milker!  If I could start over, I would be a chocolatier, a person who makes things from chocolate. Miam maim!

Bawbee. We used to use this word in the North East (of England). If you had no money, you would say: I havent got a bawbee. But I never saw it written and I never knew what one was and anyway, it sounded like barbeen. I was surprised when I first saw the word written.
