Looking for a reading or activity on kindness

Looking for a reading or activity on kindness

Hi, Ive been looking all over to no avail, and suddenly i thought about you all. Someone here might be able to help.
I am looking for a nice text that is somehow connected to the subject of kindness. (compassion, good deeds, helping others)
My students are 11-12 year old but at a high level. (They are the so-called "English speakers" in our school)

For homework over the holiday they will have to do at least 5 good deeds and write about it, but I need to fill a class before it.
I would like it to be on the same theme.
They are a very rowdy bunch so speaking only is not ideal. I would love to find a text to lead into the subject  for them to work on. (I can write questions myself of course)

I looked through the site but didnt find anything even though Im sure there must be something here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Marion!  hi!

Its been a while since I looked at his, but if I remember right I liked this site:

 https://www.randomactsofkindness.org/

Cheers,
Douglas

EDIT: What a great topic, I really enjoyed reading these stories too:

Hi Douglas,
How are you? Thanks for your response. Yes, i am familiar with the site. As a matter of fact, the last class before they go on holiday is based on things I found once ate this site. They have lots of stories but they are all too short to really do some comprehension/writing work.

Life is still good for me, I cant complain.

If you need longer stories, "Humans Of New York" stories  often have acts of kindness in them:

Hello Marion,
To me, it seems that we cant forget Captain Thomas Moores act of good deeds. Its the most recent I can think of and I remember I felt impressed, awestruck when I saw him on TV
You will find videos and newspaper articles about him. Here are two articles:

Have a nice day,
Celine.

A good suggestion by Carmelo, I almost recommended Chicken Soup for the Soul as well.

Wow! Thank you sooo much Carmelo! That was an incredible act of kindness on your part. I downloaded all the chicken soup files.
(I even downloaded the one for the bride - my son is getting married this coming Tuesday )
