The mistakes game
This is a vere entertaining game. My students are sometimes the whole hour playing it. I use it to revise different verbal tenses. This time they have to revise present simple (PS) and present continuous (PC). They don´t have to write anything, They have to do it orally!!! Students work in pairs, threes or fours. They need a dice and counters (different colours). They use the board with numbers and the sheet with the sentences (there are 66 sentences). When they land on a sentence they have to say if it is right or wrong. If it is wrong, they have to correct it (the rest of the group decides if it is correct or not. If they are not sure, they ask the teacher). When they land on a FREE SENTENCE they have to say their own sentence in affirmative, negative or interrogative. It depends on what they have between brackets: ( ? ) ( + )
( - ) (PS) (PC). I always tell my students before we start the game to work out their own rules. The same board can be used with different grammar points you need to revise, just change the sentences.
