As a follow-up, students can find strange pictures on the web ¡V award the person or team who finds the strangest picture (preferably of an action in progress). After that, post the pictures around the room and have a "caption competition". Pairs circulate and write a sentence containing simple past and past continuous underneath at least (3) of the pictures ¡V post-it notes under pictures (put in plastic pockets, so reuseable) work well.
Alternatives:
„Ï Teacher brings color pictures to class.
„Ï Ask students to bring pictures to class (not find them on the day).
„Ï Ask students to flash their pictures on the Smartboard.
„Ï Find pictures in Microsoft Word or elsewhere ¡V copy them into the Smartboard and move them about, creating a picture story.
„Ï Students tell personal stories with pictures as visual aids.
