Phonics - the short a sound
This worksheet is designed to have children explore the short a sound. This also presents the upper and lower case letter to the students so that they begin to familiarize themselves with both ways of writing the letter A. 1. Have the students identify the words for each picture (apple, alligator, ant). Ask them what they have in common. 2. During the next part of the activity i have the children repeat the sound every time they point to a letter. 3. Finally there is a handwriting section so that students can practice writing the letter Aa. You can use this worksheet as an aid or starter/warm-up for other activities as well! be creative. Enjoy! P.S. Letīs be ecologically friendly! There are two per page so that you can save paper!
