Describing People Ask and Answer #1
I use this worksheet for vocabulary and simple yes/no question practice. Students can work in pairs or teams, choosing a face from the worksheet and having partners/teams guess the correct answer by asking yes/no questions. Beginners can just describe the person they have chosen so teammates can guess. Alternatively, you can cut the boxes up into c...

Parts of Speech "Runners" Game
I use this as a simple reinforcement activity when students are learning to distinguish the various parts of speech. Its fun and gets them up and moving, and engaged with the language.
Cut the page into strips along the lines shown and place, jumbled together, print side down on a table. Create columns on the board, with a title for each part ...

Spelling Cheatsheet - Verb Terminations
I use this sheet to help students (at beginner and intermediate levels) remember the complicated rules of English for verb terminations. Its nice to have a one-page reference to give them. It needs careful explanation, and I usually hand it out as a reference after lots of boardwork.

Past and Present Tenses - Timeslines Worksheet

Frequency Adverbs for Cline Activity
These large cut-out words can be printed and laminated, for use with a temperature cline to illustrate order of common adverbs of frequency. You can have students arrange them on a table top, or attach them to the whiteboard with tape or magnets. Great kinaesthetic activity to get SS up and moving around when class energy lags. Hope you enjoy :-)

Kanye West, Fur Coats & PETA - A Reading Lesson
This is a reading activity for intermediate and advanced students. Its about a controversial subject and it contains one shocking photograph, so its not appropriate for younger students. Good for generating lively discussion, though. Let me know how it works for you.
