Alternatives to Very
Pre-intermediate levels for teachers who are fed up with their students say"very" all the time. A nice little dice game for them to practice the different ways of saying it and a few, short explanations of the vocabulary and usage. Extra examples can be added every class until they are comfortable with the alternatives.

I dont get it!
I used this with an adult group and it was a lot of fun explaining why the British would laugh at these terrible puns. It was also a good way to look at homophones, connected speech, idioms and phrasal verbs. It can be used with younger students if the last page is removed as that one is specifically for adults. A kind of answer key is at the back ...

Alternatives to because
A short worksheet on different ways to say "because." Although I have it down as an intermediate worksheet, the game is quite difficult. It is good fun, though.

Wont to, Due to, and Bound to
I started this worksheet to practice "wont to do" and "as was his wont" because it has come up in some texts I have used with my advanced groups. I decided it would be a good idea to review "due to" and "bound to" also, as sometimes all three could be used, depending on the meaning. The answers are on the back.

Phrasal Verbs About Pandemics and Epidemics
Thanks to everybody on this site for giving me suggestions for this. I still have to put a worksheet together about some idioms for this subject. I have done this in the usual manner, a mix-and-match, bingo, gapfill, story, debate with personality cards, FCE practice at the end and the answers at the back.
