Advertisements Discussion
Here is an activity I used with my secondary 2 ESL core program students in order to evaluate C1: interacts orally in English. In teams of 4, the students have to share their thoughts about advertisements. This could be used as a pre-activity to introduce an unit on publicity. (see unit 5 of Inter_Active by CEC for sec. 2)

Influence of Advertising on Children
This is an authentic text retrieved from a web site (sorry, I do not have the source) that I used with my ESL core program secondary 2 students. While the students read, ask them to highlight the difficult words in the text and after they read the text, ask them some simple questions about it.
