2010 OLYMPICS - Make up you own team
Before the Olympics, I asked my students to make up their own team. They had to choose a country (besides Canada and USA for us..... too easy). I wanted them to learn a little bit about the other countries in the world.
Each student had to choose an athlete each and find info on these athletes. Hopefulle, during the games, when they hear the name...

Build a City
Its fun when you want to have them learn prepositions. You have them walk in their OWN city and they learn Directions quite fast.

Someone I admire
This is a nice activity where students can describe someone they really admire. I usually ask them to think about someone they know personally, instead of doing it on a movie star.
In some of my groups, I had really good text and I asked some of them to send these texts of appreciation directly to the person.

Make Your Own Magazine
Its a really fun activity - especially when every team has a different topic.
When I did this activity, I had topics such as: movie stars, hockey (Montreal Canadiens), sports vehicles, fashion, recipes and even a Survivor Fan magazine. It was awesome.
