Reading Comprehension Qualities
This is a paper that I give to parents. It describes seven qualities of reading comprehension so that parents can help their children read, even when parents do not know the language of the reading. This paper includes questions that parents can ask while their children are reading. There is a Spanish translation on the second page.

Comperhension: Compare and Contrast

Students will practice identifying causes and effects. Students will learn how to use the words "so" and "because" while identifying causes and effects. Students will read two short stories in order to write about causes and effects. Then, students will look at a "Goldberg Machine" and write about the causes and effects of it.

Comprehension: Author�s Purpose
Students will learn several words about author�s purpose (entertain, inform, persuade). Students will look at the covers of books and identify the purpose of those books. Then, students will do the same with small reading selections. Enjoy!
