Expanding headlines- Articles: a/an/the/zero article before nouns
Headlines taken from: New York Times (USA), Chicago Tribune (USA), BBC News (UK), The Guardian (UK) and The Sun (UK).
Procedure:
Write up one of the headlines on the board, and ask the students where they would insert a/an/the before noun or noun phrase and there they wouldn�t, if they were expanding the headline into a sentence.

The Butterfly Color Song- colours
Students watch the video of the butterfly colour song (link included on page two- you tube video) and complete the activities, they then sing the song and draw their favourite butterfly. This is a nice colour review, there is a number activity as well. My students love this song, it�s very relaxing
