Letter to Santa (page 2 B&W)
Basic fill in exercise! This is the worksheet I give to my young students every year around Christmas. The text is from Way Ahead 2, Macmillan. Page 2 is landscape positioned and there are 2 B&W letters on the page. It cant be seen in the preview, I guess because of the positioning.

My Dream House
After matching and colouring, Ss cut and paste the furniture in the house according to the description. Next they arrange the furniture in the house and have fun by putting things somewhere else: eg. the bath in the living, the bed in the hall. Then they work with a partner and describe where everything is. Finally, they compare their worksheets.

Percys cat (guided writing) - printable
Worksheet OR activity card. Students write a composition by using the instructions on the right side. You can have them write the first paragraph then switch papers with a partner and read what has been written then write the second paragraph, and so on. I hope you like it as much as I did.

Christmas Cinquain (creative writing)
Students read the example poem (written by one of my students), answer the questions and write new poems. The structure being obvious, all you have to do is bring in some dictionaries to help Ss with synonyms. I always do some brainstorming before letting them write the poems.

Animal Logic (puzzle)
A Jon Taylor idea I tried: Challenging and fun! - Give out worksheet to pairs or groups. Ask them to work together to solve the puzzle. Invite them to justify their answers. Challenge the students to design their own puzzles, which you could distribute and repeat the activity as above. Page 2 - same puzzle designed as cards. Page 3 - Key
