Writing about characters
I picked this idea years ago from an experienced teacher. The idea is to have sts. draw one of the characters from a story being read and write about him/her. I asked my 2nd. graders to tell why the character is wanted, adn then a physical description of him/her.
When they were done, we shared their work in class.

In order to have sts. complete this worksheet, we first worked with a tally chart (I made a big one on chart paper) Once I introduced the chunks of language to be used ("How do you go to school?" and "I go by___") I asked students to stand up, inerview 6 classmates, and colour the squares as answers were given.

Find someone who...
This is a popular game in the EFL environment. I just adapted to my own needs in order to have my sts. practice making questions regarding their food likes and dislikes. They also were encouraged to give full answers to each question. "Do you like ...." "Yes, I do. No I dont"
