Animal Names and Sentences
Students first use a word bank to label the animals. They then put the animals into six different categories. The last step is that students use these categories to write sentences about them. I used this with a class of beginning speakers and found that they were able to do this quite easily and could apply it to write about other animals.

Students draw an alien. They can get creative with body parts and colors. They then use the alien they created to write descriptive sentences. They write about what the alien looks like, where it lives, and what it likes to do. Great activity!! It lets students be creative and write about something they created.
