FCE Part 3 Language Grab
I like to laminate these cards and hand them out at the start of class. I like students to try and use them as much as possible throughout the class. I also use them whenever students do focused speaking exam practice.
Really good for getting students used to the language they need for the Cambridge exams

imagine if.....
A great way to practice phrasal verbs and dependent prepositions. Lots of fun.
I hope your students enjoy it as much as mine did.

A Fistful of Fillers
Ever have one of those days when you just dont plan enough? Or one of those classes that hit a low and you need to pep them right up. Well, Ive compiled a list of various different warmers and fillers that Ive been using over the last decade or so. There is a powerpoint that goes with them but its too big to post on here. If you feel like downl...

Word Play
While this may look dull and disinteresting as there are no bells or whistles this collection of bad jokes has been a source a great deal of laughter in my classrooms in recent years.
I tend to give one student the set up and another student the punchline and get them to go and find their partner in the class. They remain pairs for the rest of the...

Perfect PET Part 3 Writing. Part 1
Ive been slowly developing my PET students writing for a number of years now and Ive just about managed to get 90 of my students to do an almost perfect part 3 writing. This is a two part lesson plan. Part one being the bones of the class. Part two is the exciting way of sticking it in your students memories.
for more ideas.

A quick activity to help students get used to the 3: sound and its different spellings. (er, wor, ear, ir, ur and so on)
A fun and interesting way of improving pronunciation of commonly mispronounced words and great for vocab building. Totally editable for any other sounds you choose to use.

FCE Speaking part 2 Grab activity
I use this to improve my students vocabulary for describing pictures in FCE part two.
I make 3 or four copies and get the students to take one when they use it whilst comparing pictures. The winning student is the one with the most cards at the end of class.
Alternatively I use it as a hand out and make sure they bring it to every class.
