I have made two of these ws. This one is simplier for those who just want to use it simply as a reading exercise with questions. I loved this text and so did my students who are mostly mums and could appreciate it. However you could also use it with kids for a mother�s day activity.

My Aussie Weekend in Aussie slang.
If you don�t understand what Aussies are saying they may be speaking in Aussie slang. Students can read the story, match the vocab with meaning, answer questions, and rewrite in normal English. It is very challenging for them. Use the Aussie slang dictionary online to enhance understanding.

I find sharing personal stories with my students work. This one works very well. Students read the text, answer questions, They then complete the cloze without looking. This activity is lots of fun and great if you are working on Health. My adult students loved it. Sts are paired and interview each other.
