CITY CAR BAN DEBATE AND ROLEPLAY
This role play requires three groups - a group of residents for the car ban, a group of residents against the car ban and a group of local politicians.
The groups prepare and present their arguments to the local government, who must provide a solution.
Great speaking activity for lessons about environment, healthy living, transport etc.

Intermediate level Quiz
I wrote this quiz as a revision activity for Macmillans Straight Forward Intermediate book. However, I also use it as a general quiz activity for this level. I find it works well in small groups. Answer sheet included.

True or False
This worksheet is good fun to get students speaking and can be adapted to nearly all levels. Students have to complete the questions with 3 false answers. Their classmates have to guess by question and answer which the three false replies are. I find this works best in small groups of 3 or 4. Enjoy!

Compose a song / poem
This is a set of rhyming word groups from which students compose a song or a poem. These word groups introduce new vocabulary and are used as a guide (I let students add other words if they like). They work in small groups and compose a song or a poem which they then read to the class. My students love this.

Spped Job Interviews (2)
This works like speed dating, except its speed interviews. Divide the class into two - one half interviewers and one half interviewees. Each interviewer gets a card and interviews each interviewee for two minutes before deciding who will get their job. I usually sit the interviewers in a line. Interviewees then change desk every two minutes.

Design Your Own Micronation
This activity works well in small groups. I use it to practice modals of permission, prohibition and obligation. In small groups, students design their own nation and invent their own rules and laws. Great fun!

ICEBREAKER BINGO
I find thisactivity great for the first day of class. Students stand up and mix, asking each other questions to find someone who says yes to complete the squares. Students then ask for extra information for each person who says yes. The first person to complete a horizontal and vertical line wins! (or complete the whole sheet). The teacher can th...
