Winter is... a handful of frequency adverbs
After a session of brainstorming about winter, I let the children complete the worksheet and then I compare the answers.
Children understand that Winter is seen differently depending on their everyday life and habits.
Together we paste each worksheet on a poster and make a chart out of the answers to see how many of them always-seldom-neverdo th...

I always have breakfast before going to school
This pictionary is a good "excuse" to introduce the importance of having breakfast. Too many children dont have any because its to early and they dont feel like eating. I sometimes let them have breakfast as soon as they come to school and they enjoy it.

Footguard cover
At the beginning of a new school year I give my young children a cover for their exercise books. I usually prepare one cover for each grade I teach, this time theres only one so my young students have to read, understand and complete the sentences without my help. Lets cross our fingers!

Im leaving on a jetplane
After the children have memorized the means of transportation vocabulary, I help them to be aware of distances. I let them use a map of the town to locate the places they want to reach and we discuss if it is better to use their bikes or the bus. We do the same with long distances: train, ship or plane? The children love this activity.

Santa Claus Domino
My second graders, seven-year-old children, are learning to write numbers, so I prepared for them a Christmas domino with numbers 10-20. They enjoyed playing with those special numbers and they had fun.
I had to scan the pages because of the font I used.

Call a spade a spade!
"Call a spade a spade" is the pictionary I gave my very young school children to learn as summer homework. Children usually name each item of a category, but I think its better for them to learn the group name they belong to. I hope that they put clothes in their suitcases and not t-shirt, trousers, shorts, caps... Enjoy!
