This is a fun activity to do during the first week of school. I collect magazines all year around, and I have the students make posters describing themselves with things from the magazines. Then they post them on the wall, and discuss them with the class.

AWESOMELY FUN EXERCISE!!! Save your magazines. Students will get into groups and each have a magazine to cut out and paste pictures of what they may find in various stores around town- pet shop, grocery, restaurant, electronic, etc.

Food Game (editable)
For 3 to 4 players. Throw the dice and go to the appropriate space. You must talk for 10 seconds about the topic on that space. The winner is the person who gets to END first. If you don�t talk for 10 seconds you must stay on that space until it is your turn again.

WANT ADS
Each student will get a job ad I cut out of the Sunday newspaper, they must read it and (A) answer questions about the ad. (b) write a cover letter to the person in the ad, (c) fill out an application, and (d) write a thank you letter. This is a great project for students when discussing how to get a job..
