Im a Brit living in Spain teaching English because thats all I could find over here. I like it though. I also upload my worksheets on ISL Collective, normally a day or two after I have done so here. br You can order my books by pasting this into the browser: https://www.amazon.es/Dale-Bates/e/B08QD5M5PQ?ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1&qid=1613573760&sr=8-1

Idioms About Change
A whole bunch of idioms about change. Good for high levels groups. A short quiz on the origin of the first 5 idioms is also included as are the answers. I knocked this together to complement Objective Proficiency unit 1, by the way.

Which one is it?
A short worksheet that I have used with production line workers who have little or no English. It works quite well and can be used as an illustration to introduce them to the concept of "one" or "ones" as pronouns. I get them to try and say what the answer is and, if they cant, I get them to repeat what I say. Questions can then be used for shor...

Conversation Dice Game: Restaurant version
My second conversation dice game. Ive just updated the last one (glaring mistake!!!) Select two speakers. The speakers move through the list alphabetically. They throw a dice for each letter and then speak the line that corresponds with the number. After they finish, another couple start. When everyone has finished, compare how different the conve...

Phrasal Verbs About Presentations
A short but very complete exercise about phrasal verbs that are often used to refer to presentations. There is also a bingo game, a mix-and-match, a dice-game for fixed expressions relating to presentations, a mini-presentation exercise, a first certificate exam practice section, plus there are not one, but TWO! thats right! Two online quizzes f...

Personality Traits - Team Leaders
Similar to my other worksheets but with this one the adjectives are compound adjectives and the objective is to put each person into a team that is best suited to their skills. You can get them to debate who goes where once they have done all the vocabulary and read the boxes out loud.

One Word Two Meanings: 2
Back by popular demand! A short worksheet about words that have more than one meaning. Answers are on the back. The vocabulary box at the top of the page can be covered up for those with a B2 level or above. And yes, I know "murder" as in a flock of crows, isnt exactly a common word. It is, however, a fun word, with loads of potential for puns.

Debating Dice Game
A small dice game to teach some expressions for giving opinions, asking for opinions, agreeing and disagreeing. Although it is for intermediate use, some of the expressions used are a higher level. It should not matter too much, though. There is a sheet on page two for categorising the expressions. A nice little warmer that can be used before doing...
