Mulan - follow-up
Children enjoy learning through movies. Mulan is very educational, as well as fun, and this worksheet checks their understanding of the story, strengthens vocabulary and encourages them to make their own sentences using cartoon vocabulary. Have fun!

LOVE ACTUALLY - British humour & great movie story
One of the most charming movies ever, in my book, deserved an extensive ws(Liam Neeson, Rowan Atkinson, Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Alan Rickman...). I watched it with adults and highschoolers (watch it before you do it with sts), and it was fantastic - we did it at Christmas time (or you can do it for Valentines day. The ws requires a lot of vocab...

HERCULE POIROT- detective magnifique
My kids loved Poirot - he was funny, yet clever and worth admiration. They wanted more, so we combined TV-series(this is The Veiled lady) and reading Agatha Christie. The great thing about it is that Poirot speaks the French(i. e. Belgian) English, so they love correcting his word order and pronunciation. This is a classical ws to check understandi...

THE INKHEART PROJECT - the book - part 2, INKSPELL
If youve always loved fantasy stories like I have and were looking for one for your intermediate and advanced teenagers, Inkheart might be really interesting for you. Ive used both the book and movie in class, and theyre really interesting - having the gift to read out things and characters from books into real life, who wouldnt want that? This...

THE FISHER KING - detailed movie follow-up
This is a wonderful movie to do with advanced sts (I did it with FCE and CAE groups), because its funny, serious, normal and twisted - just like any other Gilliams movie. Its not new, so they probably havent seen it, which is great, because you can watch it part by part, and keep them guessing. At first they are a bit confused(with Robin Willia...

CARTOONS AND FRIENDS - kids rhymes for a show
I couldnt resist sharing this with you - its something I worked out for my level 1 sts to perform at the end of the school year in front of the parents. It consists of several rhymes about their favourite cartoon characters (I had 2-3 of them speak out each rhyme and added movements and costumes), and they end it with a rhyme about friendship (wh...

St. Patricks Day - elementary worksheet with key
Its a simple, colourful ws for elementary students, with 3 different writing tasks, and the answer key on page 2. I love doing this topic with kids, especially leprechauns, and its a nice introduction into spring.

Christmas is coming - beautiful poetry and activities
This is my choice of absolutely beautiful Christmas poetry by the Ghignas, and activities based on it. I use it for all levels, its such lovely imagery, wonderful language, delightful rhythm, that your lessons will practically plan themselves. Christmas doesnt always have to be the typical songs - you can expand and enrich with poetry like this.

CRIME VOCABULARY
This is a fill-in (with list of words provided) on court and crime vocabulary. I found it very useful while doing the crime units, and after doing the ws, we played word games with the given vocabulary and I had pairs of students write crime stories using the list of given words. It was very useful and fun, especially the follow-up story writing.
