Toms Diner by Suzanne Vega
The song for drilling present continuous. As if it is written for this purpose...
Students need to fill the gaps with the present continuous of the verb in brackets. I brought the original voice only version in the beginning of the lesson and the modern version with the drum beat at the end, a bit of musical education as well ;)

ordinal numbers board game
A fun board game to review ordinal numbers. 3-4 students play together. In turn they throw a die, read what it says on the square they got to (the fifth month) and jump to a square that corresponds to it (May). They keep on jumping back and forth over the board so the game can last a while! My students liked it a lot. I hope yours will too, Marion

long vowels memory game to enforce sight reading, 4pages
page 1, long a words, p.2 long e, p.3 long o, p.4 mixed long vowels, incl. long u. I copy on heavy colored paper, cut up and let them play memory games, making them read each word out loud. Weaker students simply make pairs with the written side up. Works well to strengthen reading of target words. Hope its useful for someone, Marion
