Whats the weather like?
This is a test for the end of the first term in my school. My school children, who are about seven years old, have to show if they can read and write without my help. I think that a simple "multiple choice" exercise is the best way to help them. The images are public domain.

Numbers 21 to 30
My little ones at school are learning "big numbers" and I told them that they are like trees and leaves: tens are the trunks and units are the leaves! They liked the idea very much. Sorry, I had to scan my worksheet because, everytime I tried to upload it, the drawings were all messed up. Thank you.

I always have breakfast before going to school
This pictionary is a good "excuse" to introduce the importance of having breakfast. Too many children dont have any because its to early and they dont feel like eating. I sometimes let them have breakfast as soon as they come to school and they enjoy it.

Its Winter
A cross curricular lesson? Maybe, but very simple! After a science lesson, the teacher of Italian and myself invented a story the children had to repeat. I made the pictionary and we had the children "read" the pictures and tell what they had learnt. I explain it in the second page of the ws. The pictures are from Phillp Martin. Happy 2011

007 Secret Message
I use this sort of exercise to have children practise spelling and revise numbers and colours. They play in small groups of 3 and "decode" the message. After that they read the message and do the spelling of each word. They may also write their own message in numbers and tell it to other groups reading the numbers.

Can all birds fly?
This worksheet is for a CLIL lesson. Together with the science teacher let the children find information about birds, let them "surf the web" or browse books. Children love the world of nature. There are 3 pages. The pictures are from midisegni.it
