the pupils listened to a testimony about September 11th, then, they had to give this person testimony, it was a good exercise as they had to talk for a longer period.

the pupils need to find out what were these people�s jobs (they�re all dead, so, they need to use the past simple form of be). I usually use it first as a transparency and hide the names, so they first need to recognize them and then they can try and find out what their jobs were. Finally, they can write sentences.
