This activity is great for getting students to focus on their pron. It also draws their attention to the many different spelling the sound 3: (er) has so many different spellings.
I get my students to find the right way and then write a story using the words they�ve highlighted.

Top 10 inventions
Cut titles and numbers off each invention on the list. Get students to debate name the order of importance (according to a group of scientists) of the inventions then have each student write 2 multiple choice questions about their invention. Next get the other students to answer the questions.
