Blizzard Text
This is an original text about some kids on an excursion in a blizzard. I wrote it to help them practice the weather vocabulary with the past simple/continuous. There are questions for them to answer on the second page and they have instructions to make some of their own questions and write a summary as well.

Making Comparisons
Students must draw their own comparative conclusions about the descriptions. Using the information given, an evaluating sentence has to be written that uses a comparative (including equality)or superlative form. The last sentence may be written in the past; otherwise, all tenses are in the present and most are with the verb TO BE.

Dialogue: Going Out to Eat
A dialogue which can be used to practice normal English conversation. Students may be asked to give a summary (oral or written) after practicing it, or they might write their own dialogue using some of the vocabulary. I would follow up with a dictation and/or translation using expressions from the conversation in the next class.
