A good communicative activity when your students alreay know some countries and you�re doing food (16 cards in total; First elicit some questions about a dish they know: where its from, ingredients, colour etc. Then have them mingle and use the cards to talk about the dishes...

Barbeque shopping role play
A double handout, each with its own shopping list of items for a barbeque. Have a few students being the �shop�, all other students use their handout to buy all the things on their list as quickly as possible. Grammar: How much is it / are they + using the correct speech for prices.

What time is it in ......?
On this 2-page handout, students learn to tell the time around the world. Looking at the information, they calculate the time (GMT + 08:00). On page 2, students write sentences with the information they have; In Vancouver it is 5 past 4 in the afternoon. It is cold and snowy. People are watching TV.
