Third worksheet in a series designed to reinforce the rule which doubles a single consonant at the end of a one syllable short vowel word. This concept is tricky and regular practice of the skill is helpful.

This activity is a cloze with 15 items. Students read a passage which has blanks where words have been omitted. Using context clues, they must choose the appropriate word from a word bank at the bottom of the page and print/write it in the blank.

Two True, One False
This is an excellent game/activity to encourage students to speak, think, listen and respond. Students are divided into groups of 4-6. Each person has to either write down or think of 3 "facts" about themselves, only 2 of which are true. Students then take turns sharing their "3 facts" and the group has to guess which one is "false".
