Summarising verbs
This is a speaking activity to practise using summarising verbs. The sheets should be cut out and then the students should match the summarising verb to the correct example. They should then use the verbs to report what was said. Suggested answers are included on the second sheet. Hope this is helpful.

South Africa Introduction
This worksheet is another one in the passport series. We start the lesson for each country by doing a basic sheet with some basic information which they either have to find for themselves or which I give them in the form of a listening or reading. This sheet is a combination of research (the first part - its very easy!) and a very basic listenin...

Star Signs
You can use this as a reading. There are some scanning questions attached to the end of the sheet. You can also work with the reading however you like. I asked students to decide who their perfect partner would be from the star sign descriptions and also if they agreed that their personality matches the supposed personality for their star sign.

The emphasis is on autonomous learning. Ive had a really good response from the kids and they are loving choosing their own research topics. I hope this shee...

Shop dialogues
Just a simple reading exercise for very young learners. They can join the fruit to the right dialogue and then practice them. I suggest introducing the dialogue structure (maybe with Can I help you?) and getting them doing mini roleplays before introducing the sheet.

An interview with the Beatles
This is a worksheet I made for a VERY beginners class (who are doing New English File). Its an interview with the Beatles...obviously bearing very little relation to reality except in the most basic details and Im doing it as a listening exercise. (Teachers copy on second page!) Its mostly to practise to be and greetings. It has a little...

Cry - Rihanna
This is a simple exercise on the Rihanna song Cry - a specific request from my students. Ive just done a simple gap fill, focusing mainly on verbs and some other words that Im working on with my students, and a true and false exercise. Hope its useful

This sheet practises the present simple in the negative and affirmative. Its very easy and could be used as a time filler or for quick finishers or simply to help the students revise.
